I have been asked by some students studying Arts & Events to help them develop their conceptual designs for a show being held in Trafalgar Square 2010. We started out brainstorming each other ideas and trying to relate to each others way of working…..the aim of their show is to try and encourage being eco-friendly and gripping a younger audience. I came home and started some designs and this is what i came up with:
I decided to use a stylised approach as it reflects the way in which the tree will be made from a selection of recycled materials. However, i sent the design over to the students and their response was that the design wasn’t easy enough for the designers to read and is more of a print. I therefore decided to get back to the drawing board and try to involve Trafalgar square within the design so it is easier to visualise.

The above image is the new design i have created based on the previous comments and reactions to the initial design. I have incorporated the trees into the foreground of Trafalgar square to enable the viewer to visualise the concept better. I am still a little uncertain about the design as it still remains quite stylised….
