Today we were asked to create mind maps and record our thought processes visually. We decided to start in groups of three and each pick a theme that interested us. Taking it in turns we presented our ideas infront of the rest of the group whilst person 2 recorded your thoughts in note form, and person 3 pressed you to expland further and challenged your original ideas. I found this technique surprisingly helpful!….Although it was time consuming we managed to think of links that i would of never of though of if i created a mind map alone. Once all our thoughts were written down in a list form we decided to translte this into a mind map. Looking at the work of Buzan who created the mind map, we started to link all of our ideas down on A3 paper (photographs to come).

New Briefing:- Ok so….today we were given a new briefing which is aiming to help us develop our drawing skills and explore different approaches. There is a small selection from six themes to choose from. I am planning to plan and develop some thoughts visually on all of the themes before i make the tough decision of choosing one in particular! I’m excited about having a new project, i’m going to make a consious effort to make the most of the print making, etching and laser cutting workshops to try and develop my skills further. I have also seen a lot of work on callagraphs lately and think that they are beautiful…i definately need to try and make the most of my time during this unit!
